I loved this experience from start to finish! The transfer was on time, our guide was amazing and i couldn't fault the day at all. Zakopane is the most beautiful place and i recommend it to anyone as the views are breathtaking. We used the cable car up to the top which was so much fun and got to have an even better view of the surroundings. The cheese tasting was one of the best things i've ever eaten! (and enjoyed the vodka too!) and had the most relaxing time at the thermal baths. I will definitely choose this again when i return to Krakow!

Well today's adventure took us to Chocholow and Zakopane Quick pit stop for some traditional smoked cheese, smoked right in front of us then grilled over an open fire and served with a wee bit of cranberry jam, it was that good we had to take some home with us. Chocholow is a historic wooden village with the most beautiful homes and churches! With a side note of the largest birds nest I've ever seen, gutted the storks have headed off to warmer climate for winter. Popped into see Jan (papa geppetto) and his amazing wooden cravings Then headed up to 1600m (i think) above sea level looking over the Tatra mounting range to quad bike through the forest passing by some amazing architecture and splashing through the rivers topped off with mulled wine to warm us back up The last stop was the thermal baths, two and a half hours of relaxation. Swimming up to the bar and enjoying a cocktail while taking in the spectacular views, swapping between outdoor hot pools, jacuzzi and roasting sulphur pools (didn't smell that bad) Then a sleepy drive back to krakow. Massive thank you to Virginia and Karina for making the day so fun and relaxed!

Our guide was concerned at all times that we understood the explanations, she solved all our doubts and generated a very pleasant atmosphere throughout the tour; she was very friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Although we did not find snow, we took a quad ride with very nice views and the hot springs were amazing, I would have liked to stay longer.

We had the most amazing trip with Fun Tours Cracow. Michael, Pawel, and the team couldn’t have been nicer. With the snow conditions being pretty poor, we did the quad bikes, and wow, what an experience! We finished off in the thermal baths! Thank you so much for making our trip unforgettable.

Things to know before booking your Chocholow Thermal Baths ticket

  • Plan for travel time: The drive from Krakow to Zakopane takes around 2.5 hours each way, plus another 1 hour 30 minutes or so from Zakopane to Chochołów. Altogether, you’ll spend about 3 to 4 hours on the road, so full-day tours are the best choice if you want a relaxed day.
  • Choose your ideal tour length: Pick a 3-hour visit focused just on the thermal baths if your focus is only on the thermal baths. For a more complete experience, go for a full-day tour that includes cable car rides, sightseeing in Zakopane, and local tastings in Chochołów.
  • Adventure add-ons: Want a bit more excitement? Some tours offer quad or snowmobile rides through mountain trails. The ride fee for these, however, aren’t included in your ticket and need to be paid in cash on the day.
  • Weather considerations: If there’s not enough snow, the snowmobile ride is replaced with a quad ride instead. You’ll be notified in advance so there are no surprises!
  • Book early in peak season: Winter and summer weekends get busy quickly, so it’s best to plan well and book your Chochołów Thermal Baths tour 2–4 weeks in advance.
  • Restrictions: Some thermal pools aren’t suitable for pregnant women or guests with mobility issues or major health concerns.
  • On-site restaurants: Feeling hungry after a soak? You’ll find restaurants and bars on site, including the Chochołowskie Restaurant, serving a range of hearty meals and quick snacks. Food, drinks, and any extras are charged separately.
  • Adults-only zones: If you’re after some quiet time, there are areas reserved for guests aged 16 and above, such as the Quiet & Relaxation Zone, Słono Izba (Salt Cave), and the Warm Rooms (Textile Saunas).
  • Nude saunarium: For guests interested in a traditional sauna experience, there’s a textile-free saunarium where swimwear is not allowed. This zone is for adults only (typically 18+) and is not accessible to children.

Visitor tips

  • Arrive right when the pools open around 9am or later in the afternoon after 3pm. You’ll find quieter pools, easier locker access, and more room to unwind.
  • The floors can get slippery, so wear non-slip sandals or flip-flops. While towels are available for rent, bringing your own saves both time and a few extra złoty.
  • On clear days, begin with the outdoor thermal pools to soak in panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains. The warm mineral water against the cool alpine breeze is a perfect contrast.
  • Carry just the essentials—swimwear, a water bottle, and toiletries. Lockers are available, but traveling light makes it easier to move between zones.
  • Located on the terrace of the building, the Highlander’s Cottage is a rustic spot in the saunarium zone that hosts special sauna rituals and themed events. Don’t miss this!
  • The mineral water can make you feel relaxed and slightly drowsy, so take breaks between pools and sip water regularly.
